What will you find inside?
As soon as you cross the threshold, you will immerse yourself in a world where water tells stories! Imagine a water screen on which scenes from old Lovech are projected, and on the huge dome above you – a sky with floating clouds. Under your feet, the water seems to move when you step on it. All this is possible thanks to impressive multimedia effects that will make you forget that you are in a building from the 16th century.
On special touchscreen tables you will find interactive applications through which you will learn how water was used in different eras. You will be able to see authentic water supply systems and understand how people from the past used this invaluable resource.
A little history…
Deli Hamam is the last functioning Ottoman hamam in Bulgaria. Imagine the time when people gathered here not only to bathe, but also to discuss the news, share stories and relax after a long day. The huge reception room was a place for relaxation, and behind it were the baths themselves – warm, cozy and with an ingenious heating system called a hypocaust. Imagine – warm air passed under the feet of the bathers, which heated both the floor and the walls! An engineering find that you will see recreated in the museum.
The architecture of the bath itself is also impressive. The reception hall is spacious, with high vaulted ceilings and magnificent lighting. Even today, after the restoration, the place retains the spirit of the past and offers a unique sense of authenticity.
The hidden treasure – the locomobile
One of the most interesting attractions in the museum is the restored steam locomobile from the beginning of the 20th century, which was used to heat the water. Heavy, massive and manufactured in England, it worked as a huge boiler on wood and coal. Today it is a real gem for lovers of retro technology.
The locomobile is one of the last preserved testimonies of the way the temperature in the bath was maintained during the later years of operation. The machine was connected to the local water supply and through pipes supplied constantly hot water to the hammam rooms.

One of the most impressive experiences is the special water curtain that greets you at the entrance to the warm rooms. It creates the feeling that you are passing through a light rain cloud, which adds to the magic of the place.
